Whether your wedding is in your own neighbourhood or in some tropical destination, packing your gown the right way is essential for a great wedding day. This is a blog post for all the brides out there that need to travel with their gown quickly and effectively. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do it.

Step 1: If you don’t feel comfortable enough doing it yourself, call your local bridal salon or gown specialist and ask if they would be willing to do it for you or walk you through it.

Step 2: If you do decide to do it yourself, use a large box. This box should at least be one-third of the length of your gown.

Step 3: Line the box with acid-free tissue paper and lay the gown face down over the paper.

Step 4: Ensure that the gown is in the centre of the box and the part that is face down is not folded or creased in any way.

Step 5: Then fold the sides of the dress over the tissue until it fits completely in the box.

Step 6: Add as much tissue as necessary to keep the dress well supported and wrinkle free.

Step 7: Then fold the bottom so that it fits into the box.

Step 8: Here’s where it gets tricky. Fold the top of the gown so that it now faces it up.

Step 9: Add more tissue to cushion any other extremities such as bows or sleeves.

Step 10: Gently shake the box to ensure that the dress fits snuggly and does not move.
