Indian Saree Cleaning

What is the difference between wedding dress cleaning and Indian saree cleaning?

The main difference is how we treat the material. Silk sarees should never come in contact with water or water-based substances as they may alter the structural integrity of the saree. Generally, silk sarees should be dry cleaned. If we must iron your silk saree, we use an iron between two pieces of white cloth.

After cleaning, store the saree in a cool dry place using a light cotton muslin cloth. Cotton sarees, on the other hand, are often soaked in warm water for 15 minutes with rock salt prior to cleaning to ensure that there is no colour bleeding. Afterwards, they are starched to maintain the crispness and to remain stain free.

When should I get my Saree cleaned?

You should get your saree cleaned as soon as possible to prevent stains from setting in. The longer you wait, the more difficult they become to remove.

Who is qualified to perform Indian Saree cleaning?

Indian Saree cleaning should only be performed by a professional specialist like My Tuesday Wedding. Many dry cleaners will say they’re specialists despite having never been trained. Always ask your wedding dress cleaner where and when they received their training.

My Tuesday Wedding uses only eco-friendly solutions for dry cleaning.
